On 6 May 2026, MMU through its Centre for Lifelong Learning and Educational Content Development (LEAD) in collaboration with the Centre for Learning and Academic Excellence and Research (LEARN), welcomed a delegation from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UMS), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Joseph Ramanair, Director of CFlex, for a benchmarking visit on Micro-Credential and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) at the Cyberjaya campus.

The session aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration and facilitate the exchange of best practices in digital learning, flexible education, and teaching innovation. Also present were Dr. Tengku Putri Norishah, Director of LEAD, and Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Goh Vik Tor, Director of LEARN.

Discussions focused on key areas such as digital learning platforms, including Learning Management System (LMS) management, user experience, and the integration of emerging technologies to enhance online learning delivery. The delegation also explored MMU’s flexible learning initiatives, including implementation models, policies, and student support mechanisms for micro-credentials and hybrid learning approaches. In addition, both institutions exchanged insights on Teaching and Learning (T&L) innovation, highlighting successful initiatives and incentives to encourage pedagogical advancement among academic staff.

The benchmarking visit served as an interactive platform for professional engagement, enabling participants to discuss challenges, opportunities, and success factors in implementing large-scale digital transformation in higher education. The UNIMAS delegation expressed appreciation for the insightful discussions and knowledge sharing, reflecting both institutions’ continued commitment to advancing quality digital education and lifelong learning.
